Minnewaukan Community Club

The Minnewaukan Community Club, originally the Minnewaukan Commercial Club, was formed in the 1930's and has been in continuous operation since. With the contraction of the business district the club was converted to a community club in 1993 with membership dues of $10 per person. Each member has one vote. The dues were raised to $20 per person in 2004. There were 129 members in 2004.

Officers in 2006 are Sherri Thompson, president; Cathy Nord, vice president; and Ellen Huffman, secretary-treasurer. Members of the board or directors were Roger & Sandy Odden, Chris Koth, David Garske Cathy Nord, Jason Feldner and Becky Thompson.

The Minnewaukan Community Club operates Minnewaukan's fish cleaning station and boat ramp. These two facilities have played a major part in keeping property values up in the city.

The club also sponsors Santa Claus Day in December and a Christmas lighting contest. The club provides Christmas decorations for the city.

The club sponsors Summerfest in July, which is a party for the community. Cooking utensils owned by the club are available for use by members.

Contact any of the officers to become a member of the Minnewaukan Community Club.
